Jan Grabowski

He teaches history at the University of Ottawa, is a founding member of the Holocaust Research Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Jan Grabowski also lectured at universities in France, Israel, Poland and the United States. In 2011, he was appointed head of the Study of Racism and Anti-Semitism named after Baron Friedrich Carl von Oppenheim at the Yad Vashem Institute in Jerusalem. In 2016-17 prof. Grabowski was in Washington on an Ina Levine scholarship at the Center for Holocaust Research Jacek and Morton Mandel at the American Holocaust Memorial Museum.

He is the author or editor of 15 books, and has published over 60 scientific articles in Polish, English, French, German and Hebrew. Book of prof. Grabowski’s “Hunt for Jews. Betrayal and Murder in German-occupied Poland “(” Hunting for Jews. Betrayal and murders in occupied Poland “) received the 2014 Yad Vashem Institute award. His latest book, “Night Without End. Fate of Jews in selected counties of occupied Poland, 2 vols. “(” Endless Night. Extermination of Jews in Individual Poviats of Occupied Poland “edited by J. Grabowski and B. Engelking) was published in Polish in April 2018.
